Setup & Installation Fees
Standard installation: $0. For most existing business premises, there is no setup or connection fee regardless of which contract term you choose. Contract length does not affect the installation cost for standard NBN connections.
The following NBN Co fees may apply in exceptional circumstances and will always be disclosed to you before your order is confirmed:
- New Development Fee ($300): Applies if the premises has been recently built, rebuilt or sub-divided, or if nbn® equipment has never previously been installed there.
- Subsequent Installation Fee ($297): May apply if a new physical nbn® installation is required at a premises where one has not already been completed.
- Incorrect Call Out Fee ($165): Charged by nbn® Co if a technician attends and finds no fault, or the issue was caused by equipment on your side of the network boundary.
These are nbn® Co pass-through charges — not Airdesk fees. We will always confirm whether any apply at your address before processing your order. The vast majority of existing business premises attract none of these charges.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between business NBN and residential NBN?
Business NBN uses a higher traffic class (TC4) which prioritises your traffic over residential connections during peak times. It also includes a static IP address, faster fault resolution SLAs, and is backed by business-grade support. Residential NBN is designed for home use and does not include these features.
Is 100/20 Mbps enough for my business?
For most Australian small businesses with 10–20 staff, yes. The 100/20 plan comfortably handles simultaneous video calls on Teams or Zoom, cloud apps like Microsoft 365, VoIP phone calls, and general browsing without congestion. If you have more than 20 staff or run data-intensive operations, consider our 250/25 or 500/50 plans.
What does the Bronze / Silver / Gold tier mean?
The tier refers to the level of service included beyond the base connection. Bronze is the standard business connection. Silver and Gold include enhanced SLAs, priority fault resolution, and additional features. Contact us and we will explain which tier suits your business requirements and budget.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No lock-in is available — you pay month to month with no exit fees. If you commit to a 12, 24 or 36 month contract the monthly price is lower. Most businesses opt for a 12 or 24 month contract to get the better rate while retaining reasonable flexibility.
How long does it take to get connected?
Once your order is placed our team confirms your address qualification within one business day. For most existing business premises with an active NBN connection point, standard provisioning takes 5–15 business days. New premises or those requiring a physical installation may take longer.
What happens if our internet goes down?
Business NBN includes a faster fault resolution SLA than residential plans. We also offer an optional 4G failover add-on — a backup connection that automatically kicks in if your primary NBN service drops, keeping your business online while the fault is resolved.
